Washington DC: von ammon co is pleased to announce its thirteenth project at 3330 Cady’s Alley, an end to sleep, a solo show by Detroit-based artist Tony Hope.
The centerpiece of the show will be a playable six-course miniature golf course with each hole based on a scene from the Nightmare on Elm Street movie franchise. The course will feature a variety of animatronics, programmed lighting, and hyperrealist sculpture. A new group of works on canvas and altered children’s sleeping bags will accompany the course. All works will be blacklight sensitive and displayed in a dark room outfitted with UV-A bulbs. The exhibition will be open until midnight on Sunday, October 31st (Halloween Night).
Tony Hope (b. 1989, Detroit) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Detroit, MI. He earned his Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Yale University. an end to sleep is Hope’s second appearance at von ammon co, and his first solo exhibition with the gallery and in Washington DC.
von ammon co is a contemporary art gallery based in Georgetown, Washington DC and founded in 2019. One of the few privately-run contemporary art spaces in the US capitol, the gallery’s agenda is to exhibit important exhibitions on a project basis by international artists.
